Illustrative neotraditional and art nouveau
I started tattooing in Lake Charles,LA in 2009. Even as a child i was fascinated with tattoos. From the time I was in middle school, iknew i wanted to be a tattoo artist. I spent hours at the bookstores trying to check out the tattoo magazines because I didn’t have money for them. I spent hours obsessing over and trying to recreate the tattoos i thought were cool. Before I was even old enough to get tattooed I was trying to get my foot in the door of a tattoo shop. I was turned down at every shop I approached. Just when I when i had given up hope, I heard of a tattoo shop opening up because my friend was getting tattooed there, I jokingly told them to ask if they needed and an apprentice and the rest is history.
A lot has changed in tattooing since I started, and my style has changed over the years as well. These days I try to focus on Illustrative Neotraditional and Art Nouveau. I also really enjoy Black and Grey, Sacred Geometry, and Blackwork. I enjoy tattooing in color and in black and grey, I’ve gone back and forth with that over the years but I enjoy doing both equally. My ultimate goal is to make a timeless piece that will look great for years to come.
Tattooing is sacred
Tattooing has a lot more homework than I imagined when I was younger, but I try to take on pieces that give me and my clients a sense of satisfaction that the time spent was worth it in the end. Tattooing is sacred in my eyes and I owe each client the best work i could possibly produce at the time. I’m constantly trying to improve my work, and my best tomorrow will be different than my best today.
